Seventieth wedding anniversary - September 7, 2010.

That wedding may seem like a long time ago to some but only yesterday to others. You may be interested that they had a bash in Maine to honor their 66th anniversary and 88th birthdays - a bit before their actual anniversary dates. The announcement looked pretty good, but the video of photographs (huge file; requires recent version of Windows Media Player, e.g., 10 or 11, and may only work on Windows XP...7) of their lives is even better!

Sadly John died on November 19, 2010. A version of his obituary appeared in the Island Ad-Vantages; the notice of his death in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser has limited information about John. Here is the Memorial Minute for his memorial meeting for worship held at 3:30 pm December 19, 2010 at Honolulu Friends Meeting. (For directions from Arcadia on Punahou Street, you can try this screen capture here or use a real link to Google maps here). For those not attending, here is the handout for the memorial meeting with a few extra photos from the display. As he requested, his ashes were inurned at Punchbowl Cemetery (National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific) after a brief service the following morning. John's ashes are in Court 12, Wall R, #132 (lower left corner), and one can visit.
